Finding the perfect tool to support each student is key. Here are some of our favorites.
This is a winner with my dyslexic, elementary-age students. The use of magnets lightens their cognitive load and allows them to focus their energy on letter-sound correspondence. LINK
Students may think a challenging or unpreferred activity will take "forever". Timers allow students to track activities and learn the passage of time. Using timers can create ease and support time management skills. LINK

Kendore's Toss and Teach allows students to review heart words in an active way. A hit with all learners. LINK

Distraction is by far a favorite. It allows students to strategize how to recall numbers while handling distraction questions that build rapport. A wonderful exectuive function exercise in working memory, planning, and sustained attention. LINK

Meg and Greg is a MUST-have beginner chapter book designed specifically for emerging readers. This unique series of decodeables offers two versions of the novel in one, making it a fantastic tool for those looking to build their reading independence. By focusing on phonics concepts, most words can be sounded out by the student themselves, empowering them to tackle their own reading journey with confidence. LINK
